TINY HOMES BUILT WITH STEEL FRAMES

Steel is surprisingly agile. CAD engineering linked with cold-rolled steel production creates lightweight steel framing that offers design flexibility with structural rigidity.

Benefits of steel:

  • ECO-FRIENDLY: Steel is 100% recyclable—it’s the most recyclable material on earth.
  • STRONG: Steel has the highest strength-to-weight ratio. It is 25 times stronger than wood by weight.
  • LIGHT: A steel-framed tiny house is 40-60% lighter than a wood-framed home.
  • PRECISE: Frames are engineered CAD design and factory-assembled to precise tolerances.
  • Steel construction means no mold, termites VOCs or off-gassing.
  • Steel is fire and damp-resistant with strong thermal performance.
  • All of our homes are insulated with closed cell spray insulation. Spray foam insulation fills all spaces, preventing air from escaping. Like cellulos insulation, spray foam is significantly more efficient than fiberglass and has a higher R-value.

Steel frames make our tiny homes light.

Closed-cell sprayfoam insulation keeps them nearly air-tight.

Two types of spray foam insulation are available on the market: open-cell and closed-cell. Open-cell spray foam insulation is mainly used as an air barrier, while closed-cell spray foam is an air, moisture and vapor barrier.

FIBERGLASS
INSULATION

FIBERGLASS

Traps air inside tiny glass fibers, slowing transfer of heat

Is not very energy efficient

Has air leakage

Loses heat quickly

CLOSED-CELL FOAM

Is an air, moisture and vapor barrier

Zero leakage

Substantially more efficient

No difference in performance
